Abraham Lott (1783-1846)

Biography

Abraham Lott, one of the first settlers of Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, was born in or near Mehoopany on 15 September 1783. He married Elizabeth Haverly 8 (Audley crossed the 8th out) June 1810 in Braintrim Township, Luzerne (now Auburn, Susquehanna County), Pennsylvania.

On 3 May 1814 he bought 211 acres of land in Auburn (Auburn Center) from the Drinker Estate, which he proceeded to clear and lived there the rest of his life.

On 27 December 1846 Abraham Lott died suddenly in the home of Phillip Hall at Meshoppen or Washington Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania while on his way home from Wilkes Barre. He was buried in a small plot on his original farm in Auburn Township, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania.

Elizabeth Haverly, daughter of Phillip Haverly who came to Pennsylvania from Schoharie County, New York, was born in 1794 in Germany, a daughter of Phillip Haverly. Phillip Haverly had a brother George who lived in the same neighborhood as the Lotts in Auburn Township. Elizabeth died 7 October 1860/63 (1878) in Rush Township, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, and was buried the Jersey Hill Cemetery in Auburn Township.
